摘要:本研究以马来酸酐作为偶联剂,采用壳聚糖对轻质碳酸钙(PCC)进行改性,进而改善其分散性和作为纸张填料的应用特性。通过傅里叶变换红外光谱(FT-IR)、X射线光电子能谱(XPS)和接触角等表征发现,壳聚糖成功地修饰于PCC表面,改性PCC具有良好的分散性、较小平均颗粒粒径及较高Zeta电位。在加填量5%时,与PCC相比,壳聚糖-马来酸酐改性有利于提高PCC自身的留着率(76.8%),加填量10%时,有利于改善纸张耐破度(提高9%)、撕裂度(提高11%)、抗张强度(提高5%)等性能以及不透明度和白度等特性。
Abstract:In this study, maleic anhydride and chitosan were used as coupling agent and modifier, respectively, to modify PCC so as to improve its dispersibility and usability as paper fillers. The characterizations of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and contact angle indicated that the modification of chitosan towards PCC was successful and the modified PCC had good dispersibility, small average particle size, and high Zeta potential. Compared with unmodified PCC, chitosan-maleic anhydride modified PCC possessed increased retention rate (76.8%) when the dosage was 5%, and improved the physical strength (bursting strength, tearing strength, and tensile index increased by 9%, 11%, and 5%, respectively) when the dosage was 10%, opacity, and whiteness of paper sheets.
