Abstract:In this study, the soluble aqueous deacidification agent Na2CO3 solution was used to deacidify the paper documents by ultrasonic atomization, and the effects of ultrasonic atomization mass fraction range, ultrasonic atomization rate, atomization amount, atomization stability, atomization particle size, deacidification uniformity and so on were explored. The results showed that the ultrasonic atomization mass fraction of Na2CO3 solution ranges was from 0 to 12%. The ultrasonic atomization of Na2CO3 solution with high mass fraction was difficult with a small ultrasonic atomization rate. The lower the mass fraction of Na2CO3 solution, the more unstable the ultrasonic atomization rate. With the increased of the mass fraction of Na2CO3 solution, the average particle size of ultrasonic atomization increased with little change. In the range of experimental conditions, compared with other mass fraction, 6% of Na2CO3 solution had the largest atomization amount, high ultrasonic atomization stability and the best deacidification uniformity. The paper documents could still maintain a good deacidification effect after deacidification for a period of time.
