Abstract:AKD and PCC were pre-flocculated with two-component retention system: CPAM and bentonite . The effects of addition sequence on sizing effect, filler retention and physical properties of paper were investigated. Compared with the traditional filling process, it was found that when the pre-flocculation process of [PCC+CPAM+bentonite+CS+AKD] was used, mechanical properties of paper were most obviously improved, the tensile index and the burst index were increased by 22.43% and 52%, respectively. Meanwhile, the formation index was significantly increased from 111.93 to 68.95. When AKD was added to the pulp in advance, and then the pre-flocculation process of [PCC+CS+CPAM+bentonite] was adopted, the sizing degree and the filler retention rate of paper were significantly improved, the Cobb60 value was reduced by 24.84%, the filler retention rate was increased by 3.73%. However, all pre-flocculation processes have reduced whiteness, opacity and air permeability of paper due to the increased particle size of PCC. |
